The Imperial War Museum North is looking to increase its presence by appointing a team of design agencies, it has been revealed.

In news that is likely to be of interest for people in design jobs, the museum wants to attract new visitors through design, print and marketing, reports How-du.co.uk.

Claire Saville, head of marketing and PR at the museum, said it is looking for representatives to carry out its tasks, which are thought to include a generic visitors campaign for the north-west, targeting new and repeat adult visitors, as well as the creation of an events and exhibition programme.

"Here at Imperial War Museum North good design has always been important to us and we work with agencies who share our ethos and who will strive to help us achieve our aims," she commented.

Names such as Hemisphere, True North and Dinosaur are believed to have submitted proposals to the educational centre.

The Imperial War Museum North was designed by international architect Daniel Libeskind and is situated at Salford Quays, around two miles from Manchester city centre.
