People currently looking for design jobs may be interested to hear the findings of a new report detailing the digital entertainment sector in Scotland.
The Digital Entertainment in Scotland report, published by analysts Young Company Finance and venture management firm 2in10, found that the field currently employs around 100,000 people, almost equal to the numbers who work in the finance sector.
In addition, it generates an estimated £5 billion in sales, according to the report.
Alastair Balfour, chairman of 2in10, said that the findings could have positive results for those in the Scottish design industry, which involves television and film production, computer games publishing and online video generation.
"Digital entertainment is the fastest-moving area of global technology right now. It is centred on delivering creative content to a wide range of audiences through different devices," he said, adding that Scotland has the creative ability to "punch above its weight".
2in10 is a marketing consultancy firm which aims to advise its clients on building a successful technology company.
