Creative industries “could soon outstrip financial sector”

According to new statistics from the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (Nesta), by 2013, more than 1.3 million people are expected to be employed within the creative sector.This will mean creative workers will outnumber employees in financial companies, which, according to the Financial Services Skills Council, currently employee around 1.2 million people in the UK.
Nesta's research also indicates that, between now and 2013, the creative industry in the UK will grow by around 4%, more than double the rate of the rest of the economy
